Contribute

...and help us in our mission

Each year we receive valuable support from a number of sources.  One of the most important is our private donors, who's contributions help us to purchase curatorial supplies, hire student curatorial associates, and support workshops, special events, and costs associated with new material.

The most convenient way to contribute to our "Friends of the Oregon State Arthropod Collection" fund is with an online gift form:

  1. One-Time or Recurring Monthly Gift.  You can make direct contribution to support the Oregon State Arthropod Collection online via:

    OSU Foundation gift webpage.

**IMPORTANT: once on the webpage, move your cursor to the field: I want to give to: and type in "arthropod" and then select the 'Friends of the Oregon State Arthropod Collection'. (see image below):

Other ways you can make a contribution to our efforts:

  1. Write a check, made out to "Friends of the OSAC" and mailing it to us:

2701 SW Campus Way; 2019 Cordley Hall
    Corvallis, Oregon 97331

  2.  Retirement Account transfer– If you are 70.5 years of age or older you can transfer up to $100,000 per year directly from a retirement account to the Friends of the Oregon State Arthropod Account. If you are older than 72, this transfer is likely tax free and may count as your required minimum distribution (RMD).  If you are interested in this, please let us know and we will get you in touch with our OSU Foundation representative for assistance in setting this up.

  3.   Donating specimens, collecting equipment, microscopes, books, etc.  These non-monetary donations are known as 'gifts in kind' and we value them immensely as well.  To learn more about donating specimens and other physical items to the collection, check out "Contributing Specimens and Gifts in Kind".

  4. The OSU Foundation also accepts and can help facilitate gifts of real estate, property, estate planning, and appreciated securities.

Please contact Marlys Amundson if you would like to make a gift or learn more about the different ways to support the OSU's Oregon State Arthropod Collection.
